Note: I'm at 108 Sherman....

Got quite a rude awakening at about 4:30am lemme tell ya... I'd only been asleep about give or take a half hour or so, and woke up when I heard a car horn blaring, then sort of a huge bang or explosion, which made my cat Delia growl (she's very protective).. Then I got up and looked out my bedroom window, and my backyard was lit up to a bright orange, and there was smoke YIKES... I had to leave my cats (I felt so bad) and run down outside in my jammies.

So far the count is at 6 car bombs (molotov cocktails or whatever they're called), all over my shitty ghettohood, all went off at once... The one up the street spread right to the building and it's gone now (And it truly coulda been us, my poor pal Reggie on the first floor here got his window blown out and some of our siding that was right next to the car melted off)

My building is considered a crime scene, with yellow tape & the works--but thank god they finally just let us back in--you KNOW I don't like going out! Plus my god I was so worried about my kitties

Some sneaky camera guy from another station tricked me into an interview--good gawd, I musta looked GREAT with my hair all a wreck, no makeup, not even lip balm EEP!

Sorry this post makes no sense, I'm pretty incoherant and freaked out right now.
And I am not allowed to go back to sleep because we all have to be interviewed by police & fire marshalls whenever they decide to knock sometime later today.

I met neighbors that live in my building who I've never even seen, so that was kinda neat I guess :-p (Hence the title of this entry)
I should get out more... Just pray to fucking gawd it's never under those circumstances again.

More updates to come as more news is released.

Update 8:01am--Now the count is up to 9

Update 4:51pm--New update on the newspaper site note the map-we were fire #2... Oh and they arrested a 19 year old little FUCKER who not only set at least one of these, but was also running from fire to fire videotaping it GODDAMN what a sick FUCK!

Went to the Hartford Flower show yesterday with Barbara (she lives in Biddeford and is starting up a Maine African Violet club, and she was going down to the show since Violet Barn had a booth there, and she brought me--I LOVE HER!!)

Met my "hero", Ralph Robinson. He and his wife Olive own the Violet Barn--she hybridizes all the Standard "Ma's" African Violets, and he hybridizes all the Miniature "Rob's" African Violets with the crazy names. I told him I am beginning to try hybridizing and want to get good one day and give him a run for his money in the "crazy names game".

While at the show, we met Nancy Hayes (I found out afterward that she's like, "a big deal" in the African Violet world too!)
Apparently she heard a rumor I love minis, and she presented me this beautiful little pink miniature noID.
I almost cried--it was just so sweet and kind of her:

Also, I bought 7 new lovelies from Violet Barn, 5 of which were blooming and pic-worthy:

Rob's Boondoggle:

Rob's Boondoggle (7880) 6/2/1993 (R. Robinson) Semidouble dark red sticktite star/wide white ruffled edge. Dark black-green, wavy, serrated/red back. Semiminiature.

Rob's Cherry Soda:

Rob's Cherry Soda (8055) 3/5/1994 (R. Robinson) Semidouble light rose-pink sticktite pansy/dark rose-red fantasy. Crown variegated dark green, yellow and beige, plain. Miniature.

Rob's Cloudy Skies:

Rob's Cloudy Skies (8171) 6/5/1995 (R. Robinson) Double white and blue sticktite star. Medium green, pointed. Miniature.

Rob's Loose Noodle:

Rob's Loose Noodle (9038) 5/31/2001 (R. Robinson) Double white star/blue edge. Medium green, pointed. Miniature.

Teeny Bopper:

The cool thing is that I bought all of these as little tiny baby starter plants, and these pics are of their very first bloom cycles.
In other words, I'm actually doing this right--they're happy enough to make pretty flowers for me! I have many more I'm waiting to see flowers from as well...

I really am a nerd with no life!
And I LOVE it!

.... Miniature African Violets.

Here's a 2.5-in. miniature noID from Lowe's I've had for about a year.
Took this pic last week when it bloomed up all purdy for me.
This fucker started it all, and now along with a couple Lowe's noIDs, I have like 30 named minis and see myself stopping no time soon.

Yay for flowers indoors. I'm having even more fun with these than the mini roses I was keeping. (OMG did I admit that!?)

:-)

I'm sticking a gold foil star to [info]madlizard's forehead!
Why?
'Cos he was the only person who actually fell for my shameless birthday begging and sent me a present (and a completely awesome one, at that) from my amazon list.

Man, you people just aren't as generous as ya used to be!*
I suppose it's 'cos I'm never seen topless anymore old.

:-p

But anyhooz--thanks Eddie!!
This DVD totally rules, and I am popping it in to watch right after I write this entry, meanwhile I'll be singing "hoottttt pockkkkkettttttts" as I type.

(*It was a joke, I swear. I know that there's an absolute army of people who'd all be there for me in a second if I ever actually needed anything, and I appreciate that way more than any "stuff"... Yuck, listen to me--I really AM old now, huh!? YIKES!)

TV's 'Mr. Wizard' Don Herbert Dies at 89

When I was a young teenage urchin running around living on the streets, a favorite activity of my peers was to scrawl graffiti and "tags" all over the damn city with thick paint pens and Sharpies®... (and spray paint on special days)

But I always thought "tags" were retarded (I mean really.. wtf), so I'd scrawl one of two things.

One of them, I still scrawl in various public places when I think to do it--most people are familiar with my signature "guy puking in another guy's mouth" cartoon.

But the other thing I used to do was to proclaim in large capital letters:
DON HERBERT IS MR. WIZARD!

Well, he's not anymore. Now he's just dead. :-(

Exactly 1 year from today, I turn 30.

Fuck!

You can try to help cheer me up of course... I figure begging for Amazon presents will prolly look tacky when I'm 30, better to do it now while it's still cute*.

I wonder when it's gonna finally leak to the public that Anna (Anna-Anna-Anna-Anna) Nicole (she's-so-out-ray-juss)* was actually a hermaphrodite, and she was both the mother and the father of not only the cash-cow-crotch-fruit baby, but to her son Daniel.
Oh, and Eric Cartman too.

Oops, there--I guess it just leaked it to the public, 'cos I said it.

(*I'm sorry, I am physically unable to speak, or even type her name without singing it as the themesong from her reality show. As an aside, people keep remarking that she died far too young--I think the real tragedy was that show only lasted like one season or whatever before going tits-up! I'm not trying to say I value a TV show more than a person's life (After all, y'can't have one without the other, heh) but her show shoulda only died when she did, thass all I'm sayin'.)

Disclaimer Thingies:
I'm sure someone already came up with this "Cartman's Mom" theory long before I got around to posting it, but I've been having a rip-roarin' swingin' time here with "The Pee-noo-moan-ya" for a couple weeks & haven't exactly felt like existing let alone reading anything. So, although I don't think I'm a brilliant genius who first made this connection, I'm honestly not intending to steal anyone else's material or whatever either.

Also, all joking aside-I honestly DO think it's sad she died was murdered. She was a hot mess, but so fucking what? If everyone on Earth who'd ever been a hot mess was killed tomorrow, the remaining handful of people left would be awfully lonely.

I've had this idea stuck in my head ever since the Britney/K-Fed divorce...

I think it'd be one of the most brilliant things ever if Federal Express hired K-Fed aka "Fed-Ex" to do their ads & stuff...
I mean think about it:

-It'd work out for K-Fed 'cos most people end up loving a celeb that can make fun of themselves. (It wouldn't hurt that Britney's losing in the "public opinion" polls these days.. Even her most hardcore fans are falling out of love with her ever since she turned into such a hot mess after they split, and he could really take advantage of that--which so far, he actually (surprisingly) seems to be doing to some degree)

And

-It'd work out really great for Federal Express, 'cos the whole point of an ad is to come up with a clever way to make sure people won't forget it--That way, when the need for the services that you happen to provide pops up in their lives, it's your company's name that's stuck in their heads.

Example: "I have a headache.."="Head On! Apply directly to the forehead!"(x3)

I just really wish I was K-Fed's agent or in charge of advertising at Federal Express right about now... $cha-ching$!

*sigh*
